Any affiliate who wants to be very effective in using article marketing must know how to write powerful headlines that will generate huge article views and ultimately, huge traffic.

The reality on the ground is that not only are most affiliate article marketers completely ignorant of the power of a headline but they also have no idea how a headline should be written in order to generate massive traffic.

Here are two questions that will help you write better headlines for your article marketing campaign.

What group of people is your headline actually targeting?

An article headline that is targeting everybody is a headline that is targeting nobody. When writing headlines for your articles, ask yourself this question. What group of people is my headline targeting? If your answer is "my headline is targeted at somebody" then you have a winner. But if the answer is otherwise, write another headline again.

Example:

"How to make money online" is too general, but "How to make money online from affiliate marketing" is targeted at a group of people.

To write an article headline that is powerful and targeted at a group of people, you must understand that every headline you write must attract only the people that are most likely to click on your affiliate link to buy from the affiliate program that you promote.

Are you trying to draw attention at all cost?

Many affiliate article marketers are very good at generating curiosity. But what good is the curiosity that you have generated when people who read the opening of your article feel so much cheated that they click off to find the information that they are looking for? If you don't know, this is the number one reason why many affiliates will have tons of article views from an article directory but will have nothing to show for it in terms of traffic generated.

Here is a key point: Never trick the reader into reading your article through the headline. Instead promise something beneficial in your headline and make sure that you deliver on the promise that you have made. That is how effective article marketing should be done by affiliates.
